It is recommended to collect your Sofico Gent Marathon bib number on Friday 22 or Saturday 23 March. Come on foot, by bike, or public transport to collect your bib number from the Topsporthal in Ghent. The car parks along Watersportbaan are NOT in use on Friday 22 and Saturday 23 March. It is best to follow the directions below to easily reach your destination.

On foot or by bike

The Topsporthal is easily accessible on foot or by bike. Ample bicycle parking will be provided near the Topsporthal. Set this destination in your GPS and cycle to the bike sheds without any problems.

By public transport

Coming by tram, bus or train? Then Gent-Sint-Pieters is the place to be! Check out the NMBS and De Lijn route planners and plan your trip to Gent-Sint-Pieters.

The nearest bus stop is stop Gent Topsporthal Vlaanderen, 50m walk (lines 11 & 19). The nearest tram stops are stops Koning Albertbrug and Bernard Spaelaan, both a 2km walk (lines T1 and T3).

Parking

The car parks along the Zuiderlaan will not be accessible on 22 & 23 March. Parking Centraal at Blaarmeersen is reserved for collecting your bib number.

Set this car park in your GPS and be sure to pay attention to the signs as you approach the car park. These will guide you to the car park via the provided access route.

Access for people with reduced mobility

For people with limited mobility, Sofico Gent Marathon provides a number of parking spaces near the Topsporthal. Since there are only a limited number of parking spaces available, we would like to give priority to people with reduced mobility.

Sunday 24 maart

Race day

Come on foot, by (share) bike, on the new event shuttles or by public transport to the start and finish of the Sofico Gent Marathon at the Topsporthal in Ghent. The car parks along Watersportbaan and at Blaarmeersen are NOT in use on Sunday 24 March. If you are a participant or supporter, it is best to follow the directions below to easily get to your destination.

On foot or by bike

The Topsporthal is easily accessible on foot or by bike. Through Donkey Republic’s shared bikes, participants and visitors of the Sofico Gent Marathon receive a one-time 20% discount with the discount code GENTMARATHON. There will be plenty of bike parking by the Topsporthal and start zone.

By public transport

Coming by tram, bus or train? Then Gent-Sint-Pieters is the place to be! Please note that many bus and tram lines will be impacted by the course. Consult the NMBS and De Lijn route planners to plan your trip to Gent-Sint-Pieters.

A free shuttle bus to Topsporthal will leave every 5 minutes from bus stop 23 at the back of the train station (Voskenslaan). Runners will get priority boarding between 7 and 10am. At peak moments there are more buses.

The bus & tram stops in the vicinity of the Topsporthal and Blaarmeersen will not be serviced on Sunday 24 March. You can consult the alternative schedule using the De Lijn route planner.

Event shuttle

The event shuttles are new this year. The event shuttle leaves from 20 stops. It is scheduled to arrive at the Topsporthal stop around 9am, which is within walking distance. You can catch the return event shuttle at 2 different times, one at 1:30pm and one at 3:30pm.

Parking

The car parks at Blaarmeersen and car parks along the Zuiderlaan and Noorderlaan will not be accessible on 24 March.

Sofico Gent Marathon runners and supporters can park at Parking Gent-Sint-Pieters or The Loop. Both car parks are accessible from the R4 and will only cost €10 on the day of the marathon allowing people to park there for 8 hours. Enter these car parks in your GPS and be sure to pay attention to the dynamic road signs as you approach the car park. They will guide you to the nearest available car park.

There will be a free shuttle running between both car parks and the start and finish between 7am and 4:45pm, allowing you to travel to the Topsporthal without a care in the world.

Kiss & ride

You can drop off or pick up at the new Kiss & Ride on Noorderlaan, which is only accessible via the R4 or Drongensesteenweg. Follow the arrows to the Kiss & Ride or use navigation:
