Come to the start and finish of the Sofico Gent Marathon at the Topsporthal in Ghent on foot, by (share) bike, by event shuttle or public transport. The car parks at the Watersportbaan and Blaarmeersen are NOT accessible on Sunday 30 March. If you are a participant or supporter, it is best to follow the directions below to easily get to your destination.
On foot or by bike
The Topsporthal is easily accessible on foot or by bike. Ample bicycle parking will be provided near the Topsporthal. Set this destination in your GPS and cycle to the bike sheds without any problems.
By public transport
Coming by tram, bus or train? Then Gent-Sint-Pieters is the place to be! Please note that many bus routes will be affected by the course. Consult the NMBS and De Lijn route planners to plan your trip to Gent-Sint-Pieters.
A free shuttle bus to Topsporthal will leave every 5 minutes from bus stop 23 at the back of the train station (Voskenslaan). Runners will get priority at all times. At peak moments there are more buses.
The bus stops close to the Topsporthal and Blaarmeersen will not be in service on Sunday 30 March. You can consult the alternative schedule using the De Lijn route planner.
Event shuttle
This year, you can use the event shuttles again. You can take the event shuttle from 22 points of departure. Drop off, at walking distance from the Topsporthal, will be around 8 am (marathon) and 12:30 pm (half marathon).

Complete all info and, a few days before the event, we will send you instructions for dropping off and collecting of passengers. If you are staying put, please indicate this on the form so that we can provide you with the correct instructions.
Parking
The Blaarmeersen car parks and car parks on Zuiderlaan and Noorderlaan will not be accessible on 30 March.
Marathon runners and supporters can park in the Gent-Sint-Pieters or Ikea car parks. Half marathon runners and supporters can park in the Gent-Sint-Pieters or The Loop car parks.
You can enter these 3 car parks from the R4, and you will be charged only €10 to park for 8 hours thanks to the (half) marathon. Enter these car parks in your GPS and be sure to pay attention to the dynamic road signs as you approach the car park. They will guide you to the nearest available car park.

A free shuttle to the start and finish will be provided from the car parks between 6:30 am and 7 pm, allowing you to travel to the Topsporthal without a care in the world.
Kiss & ride
Due to the new start location, the Watersportbaan is not accessible for motorised traffic. If you want to drop someone off or pick someone up, you can use the Kiss & Ride at Gent-Sint-Pieters station. From there, they can take the shuttle bus to the Topsporthal.
Leaving the event after the race
You can use the free shuttles to Gent-Sint-Pieters, Ikea and The Loop. You will find them at the Blaarmeersen on Campinglaan and Trimlaan.
